Born and raised in Maracaibo, Venezuela, Dr. Susana Fontana's journey into the world of medicine has been nothing short of inspirational. Her quest for knowledge and excellence began in 2004 when she embarked on her medical degree at the University of Zulia, Venezuela, a path marked by hard work, relentless challenges, and continuous learning.
Upon graduating, Dr. Susana and her husband embarked on a new adventure, moving to Barcelona, Spain. Here, she began a 4-year specialist training program as a General Practitioner, a transformative phase in her career. During this period, her passion for Aesthetic Medicine was ignited. She delved into the world of aesthetic procedures and skin health, laying the foundation for her future in holistic healthcare.
Her commitment to holistic health and patient well-being led her to pursue further education. Dr. Susana earned a degree in Human Nutrition, adding another layer to her expertise. In 2017, she obtained her Diploma in Dermatology from the Catalan Society of Family and Community Medicine, a significant milestone in her journey.
As a General Practitioner, Dr. Susana approaches patient care with empathy, listening, and timely action when necessary. She thrives in a collaborative environment, working alongside equally dedicated colleagues.
After completing her 4-year training as a General Practitioner, Dr. Susana was invited to continue working at the same Primary Care Center where she had trained, a unique opportunity to further her professional growth and collaborate with mentors turned colleagues. This role presented a daily influx of patients with diverse backgrounds and complex medical histories, further sharpening her skills.
From 2018 to 2021, Dr. Susana served as Chair of Dermatology in the Catalan Society of Family Medicine. During this period, she actively participated in research, served as a speaker at various dermatology congresses for General Practitioners, and passionately taught other GPs with a keen interest in dermatology.
Her expertise extended to being a reference consultant at the Primary Care Center, where she performed tasks such as mole mapping, cryotherapy, biopsies, and minor surgeries.
As an Aesthetic Physician, Dr. Susana strives for excellence throughout the treatment process. She leverages the latest techniques to ensure the best possible outcomes for her patients.
Her journey as an Aesthetic Physician included four years of practice at a Plastic Surgery and Aesthetic Clinic in Barcelona, Spain. Here, she had the privilege of working alongside two renowned plastic surgeons. Her work encompassed various treatments, including fillers, anti-wrinkle injections, chemical peels, Platelet-rich Plasma (PRP), mesotherapy for facial rejuvenation, and skin boosters.
Having professionally and personally evolved during her time in Spain and with the birth of her daughter, Dr. Susana and her husband decided to relocate to Ireland. Drawn to the country's beauty, rich cultural background, welcoming people, and promising opportunities, she saw the move as a chance to continue her development, both professionally and personally.
In Dublin, she practiced as an Aesthetic Physician for two years. However, given her comprehensive medical background, she aspired to provide more than just aesthetic treatments. Dr. Susana looked forward to taking her expertise to new heights.
Her excitement for the next chapter of her professional and personal life led her to Hazel Anti-Ageing Clinic. This move offered her the opportunity to work in a leading clinic, employing the latest techniques in Aesthetic, Dermatology, and Anti-Ageing Medicine, and applying all her knowledge to provide exceptional care to her patients.
