Dermamelan®

Dermamelan® is a depigmentation technique that effectively addresses skin hyperpigmentation issues by controlling the overproduction of melanin and preventing the recurrence of new pigmented spots over time.

This method involves the use of a topical treatment called Dermamelan, which is suitable for all skin types and is employed to address various forms of pigmentation such as freckles, sun damage, and melasma.

Recent advancements in medical science related to hyperpigmentation have allowed us to pinpoint new molecular targets responsible for this condition. Dermamelan® has been meticulously developed to target these key factors in the process of skin hyperpigmentation, resulting in a dual-action approach that corrects existing pigmented spots and deters their reappearance.

Treatment Suitability: Assess whether the condition can be effectively treated with Dermamelan.

    2. Pre-Treatment Preparation:

Included Peeling Session: The Dermamelan treatment at Hazel Clinic, led by Dr. Susana Fontana, includes a peeling session scheduled 3 to 5 days before the Dermamelan application. This is part of the overall treatment package.

    3. Dermamelan Application:

Dermamelan treatment includes the application of a Medical Grade Peeling.

Depending on the affected area, apply the Dermamelan mask and leave it on for 4 hours.

Provide the patient with an ionized mask and a home treatment kit for one month, including a depigmenting agent, sunscreen, and reparative cream.

    4. Post-Treatment Follow-Up:

After one week, conduct a follow-up call to check on the patient's progress.

At the one-month mark, schedule a review consultation with Dr. Susana Fontana to assess the treatment's effectiveness.

Monthly follow-up appointments for the first three months to closely monitor progress.

    5. At-Home Treatment Duration:

The home treatment kit provided is designed to last for one month.

The patient is advised to continue the at-home treatment for a duration of 3 to 4 months, depending on the progress observed.

  • The treatment consists of two phases:

Clinic Treatment: This phase involves an intensive depigmentation process administered at the clinic. It accelerates the renewal of skin cells and eliminates the accumulated melanin deposits within the skin.

Home Treatment: Following the clinic treatment, a home-based regimen is initiated after 48 to 72 hours. This ongoing regimen provides a gradual depigmenting effect, progressively reducing the appearance of pigmented spots during the course of treatment. Additionally, it maintains long-term control over melanin synthesis within melanocytes, addressing the root cause of hyperpigmentation and preventing the resurgence of pigmented spots.

  • We advise against the use of Dermamelan® for individuals who are pregnant. Dermamelan® treatment cannot be administered in cases of active infection at the application site or throughout the body. Please ensure that you are in good health and feeling well on the day of your scheduled treatment. If you are feeling unwell or have recently experienced an illness, including the flu, the treatment cannot be carried out.

  • The treatment is designed to reduce the appearance of various types of pigmented spots, such as freckles, sun damage, and melasma. The outcomes that individuals undergoing Dermamelan® treatment can anticipate include:

Reduction in Hyperpigmentation: Dermamelan® is effective in visibly reducing the appearance of hyperpigmented areas on the skin. This includes dark spots, uneven skin tone, and patches of discoloration.

Correction of Existing Spots: The treatment works to correct existing pigmentation problems by reducing melanin production and promoting even skin tone. This leads to a more uniform complexion.

Prevention of Recurrence: One of the unique aspects of Dermamelan® is its ability to not only treat existing hyperpigmentation but also prevent the recurrence of new spots over the long term. This is achieved by regulating melanin synthesis at the cellular level.

Improved Skin Texture: Many individuals also report an improvement in overall skin texture and radiance after undergoing Dermamelan® treatment.

Safe for All Skin Types: Dermamelan® is formulated to be safe for all skin types, making it a versatile option for individuals with various skin tones and sensitivities.

  • How Dermamelan® works?

Dermamelan® works through a comprehensive and multi-phase approach to address hyperpigmentation and achieve more even skin tone. The treatment involves a combination of in-clinic and at-home components, each targeting different aspects of the hyperpigmentation process.

Dermamelan® acts on multiple fronts. It corrects existing hyperpigmentation by reducing melanin production and exfoliating the top layer of skin, which contains pigmented cells.

Additionally, it prevents the recurrence of new pigmented spots by regulating melanin synthesis at the cellular level. This helps to control the underlying causes of hyperpigmentation.

    When I can see results?

Results from Dermamelan® treatment can vary depending on several factors, including the severity of your hyperpigmentation, your skin type, and how your skin responds to the treatment. Generally, you can expect to start seeing noticeable results within a few weeks to a couple of months after beginning the treatment. Here's a general timeline of what you might experience:

Immediate Effects (In-Clinic Treatment): After the initial in-clinic treatment, you might experience some immediate effects such as slight redness, mild peeling, and a temporary darkening of the pigmented spots. This is a normal reaction as the exfoliation process begins.

First Few Weeks: Over the first few weeks following the in-clinic treatment, you might notice gradual improvements in your skin's overall tone and texture. Some initial lightening of pigmented spots may become apparent.

Weeks 4-8: As you continue with the at-home treatment regimen, the effects of depigmentation should become more noticeable. Pigmented spots may start to fade further, and your skin's overall tone might become more even.

Months 2-4: By the second to fourth month of consistent treatment and proper skincare, you should see significant improvements in the appearance of pigmented spots. They should continue to lighten, and your complexion may appear more radiant and uniform.

Long-Term Results: After several months of treatment, you can expect the results to continue improving. It's important to remember that Dermamelan® not only corrects existing pigmented spots but also works to prevent the recurrence of new spots over the long term.

It's crucial to be patient and consistent with your treatment regimen to achieve the best results. Keep in mind that individual responses can vary, and some individuals may experience faster or slower progress.
